Performance Improvement Program for Pumps
Performance Improvement Program for Pumps
In an effort to improve pump performance and extend service life on old and new pumps, Belzona has developed the pump performance improvement program.
- Performance gains range from 7% on new pumps to 40% on those in service
- Reductions in operating costs can be realized immediately
- Pumps protected with Belzona systems are certain to last longer
- Belzona systems resist the damaging effects of erosion/corrosion, abrasion, and chemical attack that destroy cast iron, steel, bronze, and other materials of construction
- Worn pump components can be easily rebuilt and/or coated at much lower cost when compared to direct part replacement
- Ability for refurbishment of scrap components with minimal downtime
Split Casing Pump
- Rebuild and coat erosion/corrosion damage to maintain or increase original efficiency of the pump by providing a tough erosion/corrosion and chemical resistant surface
- Repair holed or cracked casings by stopping leaks, restoring structural integrity, and protecting against future erosion damage
- Reconstruct worn cutwater profiles to provide outstanding resistance to future erosion/corrosion, without inducing bi-metallic corrosion
- Repair impeller wear ring clearances by acting as an electrical insulator for the components, eliminating bi-metallic corrosion
- Repair impeller vane erosion by accurately restoring lost profiles and providing greater erosion/corrosion resistance than the original material
End Suction Pump
- Repair erosion/corrosion damage to maintain or increase original efficiency of the pump by providing a tough erosion/corrosion and chemical resistant surface
- Repair and protect impellers to resist cavitation and prevent recurrence of the problem
- Rebuild damaged end covers by reconstructing the profiles, precisely restoring the critical clearances
- Rebuild, re-profile and protect eroded flow straighteners which will result in a surface more resistant to erosion/corrosion than the parent metal
Diffuser Pump
- Restore bearing and packing seats which will be highly erosion and corrosion resistant, and completely insulated from bi-metallic corrosion
- Rebuild water lubricated bearings to exhibit outstanding abrasion resistance
- Repair and restore vane profiles to offer greater resistance to impingement and entrainment damage
- Repair and protect impellers to resist cavitation and prevent recurrence of the problem
Liquid Ring Vacuum Pump
- Rebuild and restore vacuum pump rotors to provide erosion/corrosion and chemical resistance to protect the rotor and prevent recurrence of the problem
- Rebuild cone clearances resulting in a surface that is highly resistant to corrosion, chemical attack, and abrasion by solids entrainment in the water ring seal and can often outlast original cones
- Restore casings and prevent future damage by applying abrasion or chemical resistant coating
- Rebuild valve plates to restore the required profiles with minimal machining
- Restore end covers resulting in surfaces that have excellent resistance to chemicals and abrasion, thus extending the life of the end covers and eliminating the need for expensive replacement
